Air Niugini wishes to advise our valued customers that due to current civil unrest in Mt Hagen, all flights to Kagamuga airport are suspended for today, Thursday 12th May. We are closely monitoring the situation and will advise when it�s safe to resume operations. Passengers who have already purchased tickets can revalidate their travel without penalties.

Air Niugini Introduces �Fare Lock� Service
Air Niugini is pleased to announce the implementation of the Fare Lock system to help customers who may secure a suitable airfare to fly somewhere but need more time to decide, or are not ready to make payment immediately. Chief Executive Officer, Bruce Alabaster said there are times customers are able to choose suitable fare to travel but are unsure whether to make a reservation and that�s where the Fare Lock service comes in to ensure that a customer�s selected flight does not sell out and that the price does not change while their travel plans are being finalised.

PRE-DEPARTURE TESTS ARE NO LONGER REQUIRED FOR PASSENGERS TRAVELING TO SINGAPORE.
Air Niugini is pleased to advise that passengers traveling to Singapore now will no longer require pre-departure tests. Singapore also doesn�t require pre-departure testing for passengers transiting through Singapore onto flights to other international destinations.�However, should your final destination require a pre-departure test, evidence of this will need to be shown at check-in. PASSENGERS FROM AUSTRALIA NO LONGER REQUIRE TESTS ON ARRIVAL IN PORT MORESBY
From 1am tomorrow, Thursday 28th April, COVID19 tests on arrival in Port Moresby is no longer required for passengers arriving from Australia. However, tests for passengers arriving from Singapore, Philippines and China (incl Hong Kong) is still required but the testing fee has been reduced to K150 per passenger.

Port Moresby Airport Testing For International Departing Passengers
From 1am �25th April, all pre-departure testing will cease at the airport for all flights .� All passengers should proceed directly to the Departures Check in through the Main Terminal Entrance. If travelling to Singapore, Hong Kong or Manila, or transiting to a country that requires a negative certificate you must bring the certificate to the airport with you. The certificate must be issued by a Doctor and include at least the following information: the date and time of the test;the name of the individual tested, as stated in the passport; at least one other personal identifier such as date of birth or passport number; the type of test conducted; the brand and make of the test; that the specimen for the test as collected, and the test was carried out, by or under the supervision of a Doctor; the result of the test (such as �negative� or �not detected�); the signature of the Doctor providing the certificate, as well as their Authority to Practise Number.

Air Niugini Resumes Fokker Jet Services To Lae
Air Niugini wishes to advise the travelling public that the airline has now resumed its Fokker jet services to Nadzab airport, Lae. The resumption of Fokker flights has been made possible as National Airports Corporation (NAC) continue to progress with the present runway works, which are now at the stage where the runway is long enough to cater for our Fokker 100 aircraft. Work on the new terminal building at Nadzab is also well under way.

Changes To Airport Test Requirements For International Travel From Port Moresby
Passengers flying to Australia: Air Niugini is pleased to advise that effective 1am on 18th April, previous requirements for Covid-19 testing requirements prior to travel will cease. �Passengers will not need to get a test prior to departure to Australia,� and hence can proceed directly to the Departures Check in through the Main Terminal Entrance. Passengers flying into Singapore and Manila: Both Singapore and the Philippines are now open for travel to non-citizens.� You must complete either a negative rapid test (or a negative PCR test) prior to scheduled departure. This is within 48 hours for Singapore, and 24 hours for Manila.�� Rapid tests are conducted either at the airport, or you can bring a compliant certificate with you issued by a doctor.

Air Niugini Flights To Cairns,Australia
Air Niugini is pleased to advise customers that the Australian Government embargo on passengers travelling on direct flights from Papua New Guinea to Cairns has been lifted effective from 31st March 2022.Effective from 01st April 2022 Air Niugini offers three flights a week between Port Moresby and Cairns. Flight PX098 departs Port Moresby at 1700 on Fridays, Sundays, and Wednesdays, arriving in Cairns at 1825. Return flights PX091 depart Cairns at 0700 on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, arriving Port Moresby at 0825.

CHANGES TO TESTING REQUIREMENTS PRIOR TO TRAVEL
Air Niugini would like to advise customers of the amended COVID19 test requirements prior to travel to the Philippines and also to United Kingdom(UK) via Singapore. All passengers flying to Manila: Philippines is now open for travel to non-citizens.� Effective from 1st April, for passengers flying into the Philippines as their final destination, a rapid antigen test (RAT) administered and certified by a Doctor is accepted in lieu of a PCR test.� You may either complete a negative RAT test at the airport, or you can bring a negative compliant RAT test certificate with you. The RAT test needs to be completed within 24 hours of departure. All passengers transiting via Singapore to the UK:� Passengers are no longer required to undertake pre-departure testing and can progress directly to the Departures Check in through the Main Terminal Entrance. You will be asked for evidence of your travel to the UK at time of check-in

TRAVEL TO AUSTRALIA- DIGITAL PASSENGER DECLARATION(DPD)
Passengers travelling to Australia are required to complete a new �document� being the Australian Digital Passenger Declaration (or DPD). This replaces the earlier Passenger Travel Declaration (or ATD) that was required. The DPD is a mobile phone App and available for download at the Apple iPhone Store for iPhone, and Google Store for Android phones, by searching Australia DPD. An initial one off entry of set-up information takes about 15 minutes, and you need your passport and vaccination information to enter, so it is recommended this is downloaded and updated prior to coming to the airport. Manual paper forms will be available at check-in if required.

Aircraft Engineers Successfully Completed Q400 Type Rating Course Via Virtual Training
Twelve Air Niugini Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (LAMEs) have received their certificates last week after successfully completing their B1/B2 Q400 Type rating course for the first time via virtual learning or Distance Learning Training method. The five weeks training by an organisation in Canada was conducted through live streaming with full participation from the LAMEs at ANG training centre at 7mile here in Port Moresby. Air Niugini�s Executive Manager, Training Maika Bovoro said prior to COVID19, the only Civil Aviation Safety Authority(CASA) approved delivery training method was done in a classroom setting with an instructor physically present, adding that the current virtual learning allows for flexibility, no commuting and significant cost savings.

From 16th February the Controller has advised of changes to the requirements for passengers travelling to PNG. No PNG Pandemic Controller Approval will be required any more for arrivals from 16th February. Passengers arriving from India and Philippines are no longer required to quarantine for arrivals from �16th �February.All passengers will still need to show evidence at check-in of being fully vaccinated. PNG Citizens returning to PNG, or those under the age of 18 are exempted
